The Academic Council is the principal academic authority of Sri Venkateshwara University, entrusted with maintaining the highest standards of teaching, research, and academic excellence. It plays a central role in shaping the University’s academic direction by formulating, reviewing, and approving policies related to curriculum design, pedagogy, research, and evaluation.

Functions of the Academic Council
- Formulating, reviewing, and updating academic policies, regulations, and frameworks.
- Approving curricula, syllabi, academic programs, and examination standards.
- Recommending new programs and courses in accordance with UGC guidelines and NEP 2020.
- Ensuring and monitoring quality assurance and academic excellence across all faculties and departments.
- Advising the Board of Governors on all matters pertaining to academics.
- Considering and acting upon reports and proposals submitted by Boards of Studies, Faculties, and other academic bodies.
